1) This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10
       3) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

2) All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

4) But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12

The Most Precious Jewel of All   (Devotional by Mun Hope) (4 Minutes)

(traveler relates a true story...)

Mun Hope - PastorHave you ever heard of a man who seemed to  be  very  gentle, gracious  and  loving, all at the same time? Apparently, such a person was Dan Baker. He also enjoyed telling stories, with a spiritual application. One of his best  known stories is called "A Lost Diamond".

A traveler was crossing the ocean one day. He was seen leaning against the rail of the ship. Then he was tossing an object up and down in front of him. Whenever it went upwards, it threw out a marvelous light as it hit the sunlight, full of blazing glory. He had no difficulty recovering  the treasure as it fell down into his  hands again and again.

On behalf of Bibles For The Poor Society, Dave Dever gives Bible to native villagers

When a curious onlooker asked him what it was, he explained that it was a special diamond. He was moving to another country, and had sold all of his possessions. Then he invested all he got in this diamond, because it was more portable than anything else. The other passenger commented that it was rather risky tossing such a valuable piece of jewelry up and down like that. "No, it was quite safe," replied the owner, confidently. "I have been doing that for half an hour and I have managed to bring it back safely every time."

"That's not a true story," said a listener, as he looked Dan Baker right in the eye. "No man would be so great a fool as that." Dan Baker insisted that the story was true. "That man is standing before you right now," he confessed.

Then Dan explains that the diamond is like your soul, the most precious possession you can ever have. It is so precious that the Lord Jesus Christ came personally into this world and gave his whole life at Calvary to redeem it. "You have been playing around with your soul all these years --- perhaps five, ten, twenty years or more. Suddenly, you will be lost forever. You must receive the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior, Lord and God now, before it is forever too late, in your journey of life."

"Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners." (1 Tim. 1:15)  "For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own Soul?" (Mark 8:36)

Prayer: "Lord, maybe it's no coincidence that I have stumbled across these words on the internet. Life has been empty, discouraging, often full of stress. Please, give me just a small measure of faith to agree with these words. I open the door of my heart to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior. Please take away all my sin and give me a new start, a new life, with you in charge. Amen!"
