"Me no pretender; Me have Jesus in my heart!"….Chief Isaac Wan
After
I left Port Vila for Canada, Dave and Abby had a brief rest to recover
from bronchitus and stomach flu before continuing the mission, going
north to the island of Pentecost. They were astonished at the poverty
and they were shocked to learn that out of the 14,000 inhabitants only
a handful had a Bible. In one village spiritually hungry youths
came forward to receive a Bible but had to be turned away, only 16
copies were available. They conveyed how heartwrenching and agonizing
it was to witness many walk away with their heads bent, revealing a
look of unworthiness and disappointment. It is however gratifying that
200 Bibles distributed on Pentecost will change many lives. There is a
great need on this island and Bibles for the Poor Society is commited
to returning with many more Bibles for the people of Pentecost.
